The vineyard at around 500 metres above sea level at the entrance to the town of Caldaro/Kaltern is planted with 20-year-old vines on trellises on deep limestone gravel soil with clay deposits. Our full-bodied but extremely fresh Pinot Grigio grows here. It is perfect as an aperitif as well as with fish, seafood and vegetable dishes.

Lake Caldaro classic

North of Lake Caldaro, at 280 metres above sea level in the «Feld» vineyard - known for its lively, bright and expressive wines - you will find gravelly and mineral moraine soils from the glacial period. And it is precisely here that the vines of our indigenous Vernatsch grape variety, which are up to 80 years old, are growing.
This is the perfect, light-footed palate-pleaser for every day.
The 2021 vintage scored best price-performance ratio at Gambero Rosso/Berebene 2022. The 2022 vintage was named «Dolomites» Vernatsch of the Year 2023.

Our Merlot vineyard is located on a southerly-facing hillside at the entrance to the village of Caldaro/Kaltern, with a marvellous view of Lake Caldaro. The very strong red clay soil is planted with 25-year-old vines on trellises. This full-bodied, structured Merlot impresses with its smooth elegance and is a charming accompaniment to meat in all variations.

Our Cabernet Franc grows not far from Lake Caldaro at 215 metres above sea level in a historic single vineyard protected by wine legislation as «Vigna Peters Kreid». On this cone of rubble, formed by the white limestone gravel from the Mendel Mountains, wines full of profound charisma and elegance are produced. An excellent wine with wild meat. Also ideal as a "meditation wine" and definitely a red wine with extraordinary ageing potential!
The 2019 vintage was awarded the Médaille d'Or at the Concours International des Cabernet.
